Musings from Home

In early January, I started a series about setting small goals I could achieve in a month. Today, I’m going to report back on my progress with these goals and set my February goals.

Goal one from January was to exercise 20 minutes or more on at least 20 days of the month. I got a very slow start on this goal, so I came nowhere near the 20 days of scheduled exercise, but on a positive note, I finished strong, working out 5 of the 7 days in the last week. So, I’m on the right track, finally.

My second goal was to reduce my family’s carbon footprint by 5 specific steps. I did much better on this one. I succeeded on 4 of the 5 steps. I have yet to fix the weather-stripping on our doors, but we’ll do that one soon.

For February, my goals are simple: I want to continue my exercise goal and achieve it this month. As that goal is a step toward being healthier, I also want to add more vegetables (a wider variety) to my diet and cut down on sweets.

So, there you have it. By March, you’re going to be hearing from a healthier me (or at least I’ll be on the road to being healthier).

Do you have any goals for the month? If you set any January goals or made any New Year’s resolutions, how did you do (or how are you doing) with them?

  1. Great job! Getting the habit of exercise set is hard, but once you’ve scheduled it and you start looking forward to it, it will get easier.

Let me know if you want to do a walking date soon.

  2. Maybe you can be one of those Sneaky Chefs who puts pureed veggies in everything. 🙂

  3. I think your goals are great! Setting your sights to one month at a time is a great way to stay motivated. Please share your veggie recipes!!
